There's still Michel, Claire. I am waiting for you to come and sweep him off his feet! I thought you had gone home. ???
I am home. :) On my pda. hehe.
As you said your sons have good taste in women, I feel flattered you're willing to have me sweep Michel of his feet! (Not that I have any clue how to do such a thing with a man.)

Morning Mark. :) Flattering my eyelids don't work. So far my flirting skills are much better in writing than they'll ever be in real life.
Sari, yeah, having the in-laws like you does help a lot. My close friend knows her family aren't overly keen on her on-off romance with her ex-photography teacher. She doesn't feel comfortable bringing him home. He is 40y/o & kinda eccentric tho...

is she our age?.. I've gotten away with somebody within ten years of my age without too much drama.. but, any older and I think it would be an issue with family.. and i'm sure the whole teacher thing would be a bit much for parent's to handle..

She's my age-27. They've been on & off for some years. He's a loner, eccentric, kinda stubborn & pig-headed along with absolutely crap social skills (in my opinion). He's not bad as such & I respect her choice, but he's a bit bad for her in the long run as he doesn't make her happy the way he should. It's a bit weird... That's why her twin sister isn't overly keen on him - cos he's not making her happy the way he should/could. Me & her would love seeing her with another guy we know from high school.
I don't mind 10 years older. I can deal with that.:) Besides, men mature slower. Dating a 37y/o is like dating a 27y/o anyway... ;) Why do you think I don't date 20y/o guys...hehe

I think you should print out a few credit card photos of yourself that you have posted in G&N and I am sure you will have men jumping all over ya.
I guess your friend is trying to get away from her family type. Don't they say you marry your parents. guys find women that are a mirror image of their mothers, and women find guys that are the same as their fathers.
I know my sister has married my father in alot of ways. even down to the mine money and your money. From what I know they don't even share an bank account. Some times it's like she doesn't have her own view.

OK, here's the scoop...
-Got the tree up, partially decorated.
-Christmas muzak is on.
-Most of the Snowmen are on display (I say "most" because Lisa has cornered the market on Snowmen)
-Cats are learning to climb the tree.
-Outside lights are hung (Here's the inside on that... I'm afraid of heights. As in, if I wear thick socks, I get queasy. Lisa, the heroine that she is, offered to climb the ladder to get the lights up high. I spent the time breaking out in a cold sweat and holding the ladder. Whadda wife!)
-Stopped to eat something before attacking the rest of the tree and interior.
End message.

Sunshine-y here today and a little warmer, but windy so have stayed in except to go watch the wildlife in my backyard. Tomorrow should be almost 60 so will save my galavanting for then. Unlesss you guys show up to help me put up the tree.

-Well, I've spent past 2-3hrs on the phone. My friend H called & put me through to speak with my Thai friend H2. We haven't emailed in ages & not spoken since Nov 2001!! Great to chat with him.
-H2 confirmed my ex (the so far love of my life) got married & they just had a baby girl. I am proud to say I was genuinely excited for him, knew he'd end up with the girl he left me for. Shame in a way tho, I'm prettier & nicer...;)
-H & I decided she has to visit me for a weekend in spring or summer.:D Haven't seen her since March 2003.
- I called my friend H3 & told her about previous calls.
-H3 & I want to crash our friend R's wedding next summer (if they finally have it).
-H3 & I want to try meet up in Vegas as I heard a direct line might be opening soon from here.

One of the cool things about POTN is that we can spend time with other people of other countries and cultures. Take for example Claire's post here. Who would've known that people in her country have names that only have one letter, and occasionally a number? It's a wonderous place, this.

You have to forgive the picture...taken back in the dark ages of digital with a little Kodak P&S...the fun part is the snowmen that I made with my kids. We made dozens of these...each one completely different...the kids did the faces and I made the strange hats. We filled the bowls with candy and gave them out at local nursing homes...they were a pretty big hit.

good morning everybody... i'm catching up on what I missed... have we decided to take RV's to Yellowstone?...
And i'm pleased LS is considering.....
YAAAAY!!!! :D
Small correction.... STARBUCKS..... look forward to discussions on the True Nature of the Drink, rather than the True Nature of the Glass ;)
But as we seem to have agreed on, any reasonably qualified candidate is worth a try. :)
RVs are the best way to do Jellystone...especially if you want those early morning shots. Fall is too cold and the ground is too hard to sleep in a tent...although I do carry a tent along...should any hearty soul want to commune with nature in a far more intimate setting. Camping in an RV is far more practical...they have heat, comfy beds, nice hot showers, proper cooking and food storage facilities..Plus they have a ton of room for all the camera gear!
Outstanding idea.... wakeup - shoot - go back to bed? :p
ee.

Maybe I'll just get a tree, a sturdy stand and some bows and catnip toys for it. If cats are gonna be in it, the can be the ornaments. I'll get some spots so the light can glisten off their shiny black fur. IF you can't beat 'em. . . cater to 'em

You know, last year I bought ornaments for them...put them all along the bottom of the tree...they were small (still have some on this year but not many) and they could knock them off w/o hurting anything. They left those alone entirely and shattered several breakable ones during the season!

Here my friends is a little excerpt that I shared with one of our guests who was suffering some growing pains in the photographic department.
"Get back to that happy place soon before you find yourself so frustrated that you want to sell your gear. Pixel peeping is a sickness that has nothing to do with photography. There are lots of great pictures that have "less than perfect" pixels.
If nothing else, find yourself some time to shoot some pictures for the sake of taking pictures instead of pictures for the sake of seeing how they look under the magnifying glass.
There is a ton of great information on this forum, but there is also lots of stuff you need to take with a grain of salt. Some of these self-proclaimed experts have nothing more to show in their portfolio than stacks of photographs of batteries in a staggered line. That is pretty sad. Enjoy your camera! Take real pictures and to hell with the sorry a$$ advice you are getting about swooning over technical nonsense."

Take real pictures and to hell with the sorry a$$ advice you are getting about swooning over technical nonsense."
good advice. Now what about those of us who don't even like to pixel peep?
Great...I'm tired and lonely...(a puddle sleeping is not the same as a puddle awake) and all I get is abuse :p :p :p
Poor Permie. I can certainly empathize- well, not with the puddle sleeping/puddle awake part, of course.

Sleeping in a puddle sounds rather wet.
