This was a bad week for the Manning boys....they both stunk up the joint...an offensive line would be a grand benefit to both.

Another NY transplant to NC? My neighborhood has a fair representation of the state...Rochester, Buffalo, Syracuse, Queens and Binghamton on this street alone.
Pre-retired....there is an interesting term!
a fair representation of the state????? You a North Carolina native? :eyes :p
Buffalo? that's my neck of the woods! There was a time where anywhere in the city I knew someone with in a mile or so - but mostly I am from Depew / Cheektowaga / Lancaster area ... the 'burbs
If only my wife could drive in a little snow - I'ld go back in a heartbeat - it's WAY TOO HOT down here ....
as for pre retired ... what else can I call it when I am 48 and the wife wants me to have fun?

True...while I have nothing against Peyton, I'm not fond of Eli (perhaps it was the whiny tantrum of "I'd rather be a (dentist or whatever) than play where I'm drafted")...though with so many of the starting players out for the giants, it's no wonder they struggled...the defence couldn't make the difference when the offence played badly. I'm a raiders fan though, but since they are playing so badly, I've adopted the cowboys and ravens until they rally. So, I was glad they beat the colts. Plus, really, I think it'll help the colts. If someone beats them now, they'll play harder and maybe win a post season game.

Nah-- only 65 and sunny. windy, of course. Good thing I prefer the windblown, mussy look.
Good title....but if you start wearing sparkly red slippers dear, we may have to talk. Your friends though (on here at least) do resemble the motly OZ crew for sure...
It's too bad you aren't closer to one side of the continent or the other...sad when kindred spirits are spread all over the place
No sparkly red slippers for me- yet. Howabout scuffed purple boots?

*wanders by holding Heinz and 2 eggs* yeah? Someone calling my name?
You wouldn't believe what I've learned to eat with eggs either. Soft boil two eggs, crack 'em into a coffee cup saucer, pour thick black soya sauce on top of them, pepper, and slurp the whole mess down. Yes, I have been to strange places, and seen (and eaten) stranger things, but damn, it is good.

As for Transit Road....I have driven it from end to end on more than one occasion. Plus have stayed at some of the finer establishments there a time or two as well. My job required a lot of travel. So I was in the Buffalo area on a semi-regular basis.

Anchor Bar? back when the entrance was in front and when you went in that big solid wood bar was on the left .... and dance floor was towards the back on the right ... and tables in the middle ...
Last time I ate there before it got known - I had a rib eye & fries ...
Back in the day - the best place to get horseradish was the Broadway market on the east side ... they used to ground up some fresh STRONG stuff!

When do you want me to come?:D
I sure wish I could come, but funds just do not permit at this point. Things are looking up with the photography business, though. I have three more senior sessions this week and was contacted last night by a person in Annapolis, MD, for a photo shoot of her daughter. Seems this person will be visiting family in my area and wants me to photograph the child during their time here.
Wow, I would be bitchy as hell if I didn't sleep well/at all for so long!
All things considered you are holding up well....
I rarely sleep more than 4 hours each night, if that much. With as much work as I've had lately, I don't have time to sleep.
MD is some of the scariest stuff on the planet....ever take a look at it under a black light?
Yes, it's scary, and it's the preferred drink of my special ed students! Most of them have ADHD and self-medicate with good, old MD.

I nailed the sunset.. Miracle of miracles my boss let me go get my camera.. I ran home, back here barely remembering to grab my tripod got myself set up within about six minutes... and boy, when the storm broke about half an hour before the sunset I figured it would be all overcast and kinda boring.. Nope, not even close probably the prettiest one i've seen here so far.. and it's sitting on my camera.. So, this maybe premature.. the last weekend in January is the beginning of our winter carnival.. Lots of fun and interesting stuff to do.. I do believe there is some interest from Maureen and Perma.. We can go up to the hotsprings (have to find snowmobiles though) and there is a mardi-gras like parade that can be lots of fun.. the entire town is littered with eight foot high or taller snow sculptures, all kinds of parties and fairs, and my personal favorite the hayride to an Elk feed out at one of the Ranches a few miles from here.... Not only that but, y'all stay on the cheap at my resort with views of Payette lake that I really haven't done justice to yet.. we're talking pretty. Just remind me to get the reservations for the third floor so there's no trees in the way of your comps.

that is my work place. literally out the window. I live across the street but, that is pretty much the view from every diningroom, suite, my lounge etc... I will get some RAW conversions done with a bit more attention to detail tomorrow i'm a little foggy at the minute... the sad part is I was shooting with a tripod.. not sure how I got it quite that off... :o :o

It happens.... even with the tripod. Don't worry about it. Must be a nice view in the daytime with a blue sky too :)

yes. yes it is.. but, the reflections off the water are usually done by nine or so and so far I haven't really gotten up voluntarily that early to get any shooting done... I will though.. I'm kind of waiting for more snow.. the patchy stuff isn't proving to be very photogenic.. and ofcourse when the lake freezes over that will be a lot of fun.. if not a bit cold..

Nice.. looking forward to what you can get. I passed through Yellowstone a couple of years back, and I saw the lakes with some ice on them, as well as on the banks. It was beginning to thaw though, end of winter... but I can almost imagine what yours would look like given a little bit more cold weather.
If you ever get a chance to be stationed at Yellowstone, it is absolutely awesome.... some of my all time favorite shots came from there. My only regret is shooting it with a P&S.....

I just found this quote....brilliant!
"Remember, too, that obsessing about lenses just isn't necessary. They all take great pictures. But if it's fun for you, then do it! Messing around with cameras and lenses is safe, pleasant, legal, and harms no one. All things considered, it doesn't rank very high on the scale of silly vices."

Lucky DD! I miss the days of caffeine IVs, although the track marks started looking a bit suspicious. You know how students talk. However, they did ask for IV hooks in the ceilings of the classrooms in our new building for those 8 am classes.
Only one caffeine injection for me a day. Sun here again today and near 70 forecast. will be busting tush to try to get all my leftover prep done before Josh gets here at noon. I just haven't made up my mind to do it yet

Now there is a contraption....I just wonder about it.....I wouldn't think you would want it inside your home....especially during winter....last thing I need is a dehumidifier here in winter months. But I can see where it might fill a niche in certain areas.
