I have recently purchased an EOS 1d MK111, and already have a 70-200 2.8 IS lens and a 24-104 f4. However, I am the first to admit that I have little experience with this kit, and before I feel totaly ready for this challenge, my sons Judo club have caught wind and they have asked me to photograph a match tomorrow evening. Their wish is that I produce some publicity shots for thier web site.

I have photographed judo for a couple of months with a 450D, but now feel that there is some real pressure!

The venue is indoors under strips light. Can I realisticaly jack the ISO upto 3200, to keep a reasonably sharp f stop, to maintain a sharp image?

Can anyone recomend the ideal shutter speed and apature setting?

Thanks to all in advance for your assistance.

Regards

Thanks, and I guess F4 will give a reasonably shallow depth of field, yet allow frezzing of the action and avoid and blur due to camera shake.

yea i figured f4 would work best for you, being judo.. the subjects will move fast so shooting at f4 will give you a little less OOF issues.
