Can't Believe It

Well I took the plunge and ordered the Canon 70-200mm L USM f4, I have looked at lenses for 2 months and didnt want to go over my budget but I didn't want to purchase a lens and it not be what I want. Thanks to everyone that responded to my post and questions. All your help is much appreciated!!!

I was about to purchase this lens too a few days ago. But I decided that a new walk around lens was more important at the moment. I still have this lens on my wishlist and I will be buying it by the end of the month. :D

Mdaddy, good choice! I checked the package tracker and my copy is sitting in Roseburg, Or., now awaiting it's last leg to Portland. Hope to have it by Thursday,...Fri at the latest. When I go to sleep at night, all these little "L's" are dancing around in my head--I'm counting L's instead of sheep. Even at work I can't stop thinking about that red stripe. It's crazy--and I haven't even gone out on a serious shoot yet. Hope to try this weekend though. I've got all the symptoms of L fever and no money! Good luck with your new lens!

I know what you mean Guitarman, I love that red ring, cant wait till I get mine, I am so excited. Good luck with yours, maybe if there is time between shooting you could post a few for viewing.

I got my 70-200 4L tonight but I had to go to UPS to pick it up and by the time I got back, it was too dark to do much shooting. Tomorrow's supposed to be sunny so after work I may try some shots. This baby really feels good on the XT for me, probably because I haven't become accustomed to the lens on a bigger SLR. If I get a decent shot or two I may post them. Most of my decades using SLR's has been for snapshots so I have a lot to learn, especially about composition.

Glad to hear the good news Guitarman, look forward to see some of your work. I myself have a lot to learn about the whole concept of DSLR photography. But that is half the fun for me.
