Spyder 2 or ColorPlus

For those of us on a budget will ColorPlus do the trick. Will the same software that comes with the more expensive Spyder 2 work with the Spyder that comes with ColorPlus if I have access to it? I have a CRT triniton based flat screen 19" monitor and my camera is a 20D.
