I'm thinking about getting a 1.4x teleconverter to go with my canon 70-300 do is usm. i heard the tokina tc works great with this lens. what are your thoughts? or any other suggestions? Thanks!

Unless you have a 1 series body, you will probably lose autofocus capability because of the lost stop.

Please read the T-con sticky regarding compatibility. The Canon will not "fit" your DO.

I know the canon tc wont fit, since they only work with L lenses. Im looking for 3rd party ones.

OK... I keep reading your posts about "stickys". What are they and where are they?Look at the first for posts in this forum. The titles start with "Sticky:". The moderator of the forum has made these posts "sticky", which means they will stay on top of the forum even if people make newer posts.

The sticky topics contain useful information about frequently asked questions, and before you make a new post you should have a look there, so that people don't have to answer the same questions over and over again.
