Thought this scene was pretty typical of New England, Sadly it is a fast vanishing one, urban sprawl is beginning to look more typical.

Despite being pleasant pictures, I feel they lack a focus.
The first photo has nice 'layers' if you will, but I think a bit more sky could look good.
The second is just a bit too crowded, there isn't a main subject.

I love them.
really beautiful scene and colours
the close up (you mentioned) of the barn in the second shot gives us a great idea of their size and make Sandy
thanks

The first one I didn't want to show a lot of sky as the title reflects I was showing the farm and the Dandalions in the field as well as the trees beginning to show there leaves. the emphasis was on the field in the foreground.
on the second one the focus point is the barn and the houses or parts there of are to show the URBAN sprawl I had mentioned.
thanks for the comments, everyones point of view is welcome.

Thank you Marie it's a beautiful sight to see, as long as the dandalions aren't in my lawn

Nice shots. It's amazing how much I appreciate dandelions, now that I don't have a lawn.

Nice one Sandy. A field of dandelions is spectacular - but as you say as long as it is not your lawn!

Have you ever had any of Sandy's (the other one in your neighborhood, not you :) ) dandelion wine? I've grown to appreciate these weeds on a whole new level. ;)

Very nice shots. Who do you suppose decided that dandelions are weeds?
Had to be someone who knew they were the only thing I could grow...

Sorry, but I like the shots. Here's the first one with a little PS work (curves), and a quick frame.

not sure why you felt it needed that John
I think it spoilt the already beautiful picture

Marie,
You are right. . . sorry, it may have been some bad wine. Actually, no excuses here. . . just a bad judgment call. It is a lovely shot, and out of respect for the poster (stonelylonesome), I'll pull my version. I do appreciate your candor Marie, and thanks for keeping me straight. ;)

No need to pull it. unless you want. Everyones opinion is welcome. However photos like any form of art are very subjective. " Art is in the eye of the Beholder" That's why I will write my opinion at times on How I might show a photo, and if the poster asks for an example I might than do some stuff on there photo. No harm done John, we're all here to learn, and the best way is to get everyones opinion. No matter how professional we may be there is always room for learning.
by the way I didn't think there was any BAD wine, just some taste better than others
oopss posted this before I saw that you had pulled the photo.

You are correct about the wine. . .  . Some do taste better than others, and some seem to change my taste in art as well.
Marie was right on. The framing action I added to your shot was for a full sized pic and not for one already sized for the web. You never asked anyone to frame your shots, and I really don't know what I was thinking. Your work certainly didn't need any of my help. . . . :o
Hopefully no hard feelings, and I admire Marie for speaking up in defense of your shot. I respect everyone's work, and I too learn something new here every day.
Sorry for the slow reply, but I'm supposed to also be working.
Keep shooting!

You still have a beautiful scenary there, Sandy. And you captured it very well, with the flowers in the foreground adding to it.
