An acquaintance of mine is looking for a hi-res image, preferably in the public domain of a Pfalz D.III WWI era plane to use in a book. Since the book is on spec, he understandably does not want to shell out a lot of money for the image. Does anyone here have any ideas on how he can find this image for no (or at least little) cost?

Thanks

Doing a Google images search on Pfalz D.III gave lots of results. You might have your friend start by looking there. He might find a usable image and be able to contact someone about using it.

If there is any kind of aviation museum near him, then he might check to see if they have a photo library and what images are available. He could probably work out a usage agreement with the museum if they have what he's looking for.

Thanks for the help. He's been doing a lot of google searches, but nothing has worked out for him yet. Perhaps he can get something from these two links.
