Sadly I still don't own a tripod (I'm on a bit of a budget) but I managed to prop the camera on anything nearby. (still maybe a bit of blur partiularly on shed pic)

Wow. I like number 1, but would have pulled the saturation down quite a bit if it were mine, but that's my taste. My monitor is bleeding all over my desk! I sure can't do that well when I try HDR, but I keep at it. Keep it up.

Now the first one is way better then you audi shot. they seem a bit over the top though, tone down the saturation a bit.

This look works good with #1.

ok I think for my 3rd attempt I will tone down the saturation a little

How did you do this?

I'm still struggling to capture that look. My HDRs are coming out too realistic. I like what you did.

I'm not sure how I got this look. lol.
I just took 3 exposures: -2, 0, +2 and tweaked the image using photomatix.

Are you shooting raw?

Also, what were your exposure settings in terms of aperature, iso and shutter speed?

I like them.

There's something about over the top tones and blur that replicates bad but earnest printing from a bygone era.

I cannot exactly place it but they are reminiscent of style of illustrations featured in books for young readers from 1960's as well as vintage postcards and toy packaging from the same period.

While your attempt is to create HDR image, you may have accidentally stumbled upon something that some graphic designers try ever so hard these days to recreate.

Search images or glean through Ebay (vintage toys, postcards, etc) and you may come up with inspiring examples.

I got one from google image search in the link below but it's still not exactly what I have in mind I want to convey:

That's exactly what I love about HDR. I'm going for the same look: illustration.
