To be honest I don't get this shot. There is no action, no face and it is under exposed.

To be equally as honest it's what matters to you, Texas 95, that really matters. If you like the shot, then great! If it makes you want to get better equipment, practice more, shoot more varied subjects, whatever, then good for you!
Get your lens and have some fun. :)

~K Thanks for you help! I will work on exposure more. I am using the photo for a book cover for my son! I love it for that.. I have tons of action photos for the season but this one I loved maybe because it is different.

I think this shot would work better if the ball were as in focus as the batter. I know that may be tough with limited depth of field, but worth thinking about, maybe next time you are shooting in day time with good light. Like others have said, this angle may not appeal to many but sometimes it does, especially to parents. You can easily brighten this shot in post processing too. Generally for baseball, as well as many other sports, faces are key...get a good facial expression along with key action and you will have a good sport shot.

I like the shot, especially for what your wanting to use it for. Also, i'm thinking
it might be nice in B&W?

Thanks for the nice words also!!!! I am trying to get better! Spoken for the point of a mom you would be surprised how many moms love the jersey shot with the name on it. Not all shots have to show the face. I will try the b&w and I am working on getting the exposure better. That is a tough one for me it seems!
