Hi you all!

I just bought a new Canon 20D a couple of weeks ago. Today, I noticed some gray spots on a photo I took of a structure and the sky. I took some more photos just now to a white photo with my flash and...the spots are still there! When analyzing previous photos, I think they're in all of them!

Look at the two spots in the sky. They're much more defined than in other photos, but I can now see these two spots in every photo, more defined in some and less in others.

I bought this camera in a German online shop and now I don't know what to do...what kind of sensor problem is this? Should I ask the German store to change the camera (since it was bought less than 15 days ago) or go to my national Canon section?

Thanks in advance

looks like dirt on the sensor needs a cleaning.

Is it normal in a brand new camera?

And should I send it to canon or ask in the store for a replacement?

It's not uncommon, and the sensor simply needs to be cleaned (this is not a defect). You can get dust on the sensor the first day you take the body cap off the new camera if you don't take some care. When you change lenses, make sure the environment isn't dusty, and even then, point the camera body downwards to try to minimize any stray bits of dust from falling inside.

go to your menu, go to sensor clean and than remove the lens. (leave the camera on)
now try to blow the dust away using one of these:

don't use compressed air and never blow it with your mouth!!

if blowing doesn't work, you have to use something like this:

Thank you all for your help.

I used a rubber air blower today and I think the problem is solved!

My only concern yesterday was the fact that the gray spots had different looks depending on the light conditions - they were only sharp (and noticeble) when I took the photo of the sky!

Anyway, since I am new in this digital photography world, I would like to know if there is any other basic maintenence tool I am missing. I currently have:

- Air blower (with hairy, removable cap)
- Lens cleaner liquid
- Lens tissue paper
