One regular always talked -- at length -- about the birds on the telephone wires, as if the Town Council could do something about them. It's pretty SOP for local councils to have public comment sessions and, especially at the full moon, the comments can be pretty amazing.

The 'free land' and agriculture concept is not unusual. A lot of people in that area grow marijuana on government land in the Santa Cruz Mountains.

Oakland and Los Angeles are both considering a tax on medical marijuana. That, along with a huge increase in the sale of Lucky Charms and Ben & Jerry's ice cream, should stimulate the economy nicely!

The argument about whether or not there are medical benefits is strictly political as anybody with chronic pain can attest.
