Shooting a parent/Child tournament tomorrow. I've read through the previous posts and notice that many of you suggest not shooting during the backswing. I would think this would apply more to professional and serious amatuer tourneys vs. something like I'm shooting. Would any of you agree or should I still stick with just the follow through?

FWIW, using a 40d and 100-400 on a par 3. Should be able to get plenty of putting shots, possibly a chipping if someone goes short.

I think this rule-of-thumb applies regardless of the level of competition since the reason for the rule is the same. I mean, even in a casual match among friends you're not supposed to make any noise during the swing or put or sometimes, even walk in the field of view of the person swinging (spoke like the ex-caddy I am).

Should also mention the age range in the tournament is 3 yrs to 17 yrs. The banquet afterwards is an ice cream social so it's really more of a family event.
