This is a traditional Farm scape in North Texas - complete with the windmill and storm cellar in the back - no white puffy clouds today - that would have helped:)

this is a HDR - using the latest Photomatix 3.2 not as extreme on the halo effect

Sorry, I'm not seeing it. It has nothing to do with halos. HDR processing should be bringing out some of the detail in the shadows under the roof and tree. How many exposures did you use?

the lighting was very harsh - high noon - but the colors and detail are way better than the single exposure - I used 3 shots +2,0-2 - I was very surprised that photomatix 3.2 was not as defined as the older version that I had been using - I will get used to it and its new slide technique in the control area -I was not bothered by the shot it really brought the roof and the windmill out well

On the storm cellar, oh yes, the storm cellar. For West Texas as well. My mother grew up in Midland and the only thing that I think truly ever frightened her in her entire life was a tornado...

Hard to tell without seeing the original. Didn't mean to offend. I would have thought 2 stops up would have covered it.

It doesn't look very HDRish, which is good. Many HDR photos are over the top. It's not very sharp either. Was it a very windy day?
