my hair was messy and eye was out of focus...and it was hard taking a self portrait hehehe. but here you go anyways

messy hair is not a bad thing... and as far as the OOF eye if you can look through the viewfinder and still take a picture of yourself without a mirror please tell me how ;)

If you are unhappy with the photo I'm sure you would be able to persuede the model to let you try again!

I really like the original . . . I think the B&W was a tad-big oversharpened (your eye looks almost unnatural). just my 2cents

BTW, did you take the picture in your avatar? if so, you've got some pretty nice self-portrait skills and are very photogenic

Actually I like the color one better. It's softer and the tone adds to the mood. There seems to be more detail with the color one.
Try a b&w right out of the camera,use the preset green filter in the camera's parameter settings.

thanks for the advice/comments.

about the avatar...my friend took it. shes a photographer/makeup artist/hair stylist....so she had full control over how i looked. i wish i was that talented!

since the hair is messy you could remove it entirely so it looks like it was pulled back...

I really like your beautiful skin tones in the color version. I also like the work you did in the black and white. I don't think there is anything you could do to make the model look bad.

I like the version taken by your friend best.
So that's the reason we still need photographers to do portraits :lol:
Thought we could do it all ourselves, with AF and whatnot.

MGBeach, that's also some great PS work IMO!

Yep...Your a DOLL!! but yes I agree your friend is very talented. Great lighting. If I were you I would look into modeling, if your not already one.

Well, I've been lurking here for a while... I knew I would post something eventually... The enlargement of your avatar has motivated my first post to these forums! That's a stunning pose, your eyes are captivating. You and your friend should get together for photos more often!

As for your self portrait, I think I prefer the colour one, because your skin tone is nice and warm.

Self portraits are tough! The colour one looks nicest to me.

But, like so many others have said; your AV image is great! You look stunning and yes, if you haven't tried modelling, please do so. And do get together with your friend and take turns with the picture taking and posing! :)

Great photos, but it would be hard to go wrong with such a wonderful model :) I think my favourite is the AV enlarged. Great work. I could end this thread very fast and post a s/portrait, but I wont :wink:

well, like i said, pro photographer + makeup artist = anyone will look good hehehe. especially with her style of photography....the asian style of lighting/exposure...it covers every flaw. in person im really average looking. these comments boost up my confidence a little. im not interested in going into modeling though. i wanna be on the other side of the camera :D .
