I'd like to see you drop all that on the counter at Best Buy to pay for your new camera....I think there would be some grumbling...lol

Thats if I could carry all the way from the car to the counter, 550 in change is pretty heavy

And I still have a few hundred to go;)

That's awesome! When I started dating my wife she was a server and always had a ton of change. We used to have fun rolling it all. It's amazing how fast it all adds up. Congratulations on the camera.

Yes, it does add up fast, The wife and I started filling it up about 5 months ago. We were going to leave it alone until it was totally filled (under 1/4 filled now, it's amazing how much change a 5gal water bottle holds:) ) and use it for a nice vacation. But she said to use it for the XT and we will start filling it again. So.... What was I going to say, No?

Wow, I better get my own water bottle and start saving. More lenses, here we come! Congratulations on that XT.

I found myself in a similar situation a few days ago. I had this blue "piggy bank" type of thing that has accumulated change (no pennies) over time. I counted it all and ended up with $146.

How do you go about changing this in the bank? I mean....if you put them all in those rolls how do they know you were honest and put 40 quarters in the $10 quarter roll instead of just let's say....38?

hehe, I have a 5 gallon jug that's being filled with pennies as well. Which I, sure as hell, will not bother counting. I'd just pour it into this machine at some grocery stores that count it for you and give you the money (yeah after taking 18% or so from you...bastards) I don't want to use this machine with the $146 bucks in change because 18% of that (I think it was 18%...) is ALOT.

Congrats am! Make sure you know rejecting legal tender as payment is a crime. Now go get WorstBuy, tiger. ;)

Yeah, BBuy made me wait for 45 minutes once for a refund. I say take them the change but be sure the XT is on sale or you have a coupon. Hope it doesn't take you long to get the amount you need. No matter where you buy it, good luck and have fun. It's a cool little camera. Let us know when you get it and be sure to post pics!

That's one sweet way to save. I try to empty the change from my pockets every night. Seems like get to greedy and roll and cash in way to soon.

I do that, too. One jar for pennies, and one for silver. A couple years ago I counted up all the silver ($385) and took it to Vegas to feed it through the machines there. I ended up drawing a royal flush on a progressive video poker machine and came home with more than I went there with. At least this time it was in foldable cash... :D
