If anyone is interested I'll be doing a one day photography workshop in Coloma, Califonia (near Sacramento) on July 23rd. The workshop will run over a few photography exercises that help you think about what you are doing, and then cover some aspect of digital workflow on the computer.
Cost is $25 and is in the form of a donation to the American River Conservancy whom I volunteer for.
We've been doing a couple of classes a year and they have been great fun. There is often another Pro there, although this one I'll be doing on my own.
If anyone perfectly happy with their photography abilities would like a tour of some of the ARC lands (some private, some now handed over to the BLM) I can arrange tours for a similar cost. There is plenty to see in the area from rafters on the river to wildflowers (great this time of year) and deer on the hills.
Thanks

I would be interested. Please look me up when you plan your workshop. I may be able to talk my wife into joining as well.

I certainly will. Actually, I'll try and get an electronic copy of the newsletter with the details on the class and send it over to you.

And then, after a day in Coloma, send them down to the Ancil Hoffman park near Sacramento for river, flowers, and wildlife.

We'll just grab a raft and float down. No problem (aside from the occasional dam).
Are you another Sacramento resident then? I was in Ancil Hoffman (or more precisely Effie Yeaw) a while back doing a wedding. Its a great park isn't it. Deer and turkeys everywhere.

No, but I've been known to stop off at the park on my way up to Tahoe. The deer seemed too tame, and wild turkeys kept getting in front of me on each trail. Lots of raptors close to the river.

For anyone interested, the following article was posted in the SacBee yesterday. Unfortunately you need to be a SacBee subscriber to actually view it online but seeing as its about me I'm hopefully not going to annoy anyone.
NATURE IN FOCUS

While I'm at it here is a link to the newsletter that the SacBee got the info from. Anyone attending may want to know a little more about who ARC are as that is where their money will be going.

Hope Anne Killion doesn't write for SacBee. Does she?
Man, let's just say that my blood boils when she writes about the 9ers.
