3x 580s here that do service as on-location lighting and studio lighting. Would like some more powerful lights but these are more than enough for a lot of stuff.

Don't use the Cactus Triggers. Use the STE-2 both indoors and outdoors as I prefer ETTL ll

It is hard to imagine that someonw who owns elinchroms would also not have a pair of flashes.

I own Alien Bees, Elinchrom and Canon 580/420 EX. I guess I fit in all categories!!!

I've got both flashes and Elinchrom strobes, but given a choice would rather shoot the Elinchroms.

I have a generic light kit with radio triggers AND I have a 580/430/st-e2 setup.

I think the light kit and flashwave triggers are going up for sale though.. They work great, but I'm happier using ETTL for most things (and falling back to Manual when needed) rather than manual all the time.

SUN LIGHT !! you can just about shape it anyway you want with a few reflectors or 3.
A large diffuser comes in handy too.
