nice shots.

This shot shows why I think the cage is more appropriate for mma. Grappling in a ring seems crazy to me.

Thank you.

If it were an MMA-only show it would've been in a cage, but this was a mixed event, primarily for boxing. That said, in my opinion, that fight as pictured above stole the show.

The promotional posters had the guy getting knocked out of the ring appearing as the de facto headliner. He's an experienced (though not necessarily accomplished) MMA fighter, an overwelmingly hometown favorite, and was set to make his pro boxing debut in the near future. And what happened instead was he got utterly destroyed by an unknown, smaller guy with a TKD background. It was great.

Snap, in your second series of pictures above, what pp did you use for the last shot where the guy is staring into the camera? Sureal! I like the colors and the separation of the sweat on his face. Almost looks like a HDR process.

I was going to ask the same thing? How did you use HDR in a shot like this. Awesome shots

Thanks.

I'll just say this:

when you're forced to shoot at iso 3200 and a used lens with a 40D, you've gotta do what it takes from letting your pictures looking like crap.

There's a few ways to create the effect. The intro level's just playing with shadows/highlights adjustments. Or, you can mess with the artistic effect filters like posterization. Finally there's the PS Plugins, like topaz adjust, contrastmaster, or lucis.

With trial and error, you can really create eyecatching shots...and you can also waste ungodly amounts of time to just walk away with nothing.

These were a couple of bland pics from last week, which I decided to try and spice up.

Nothing life altering, but it was good practice.

Oh, well since you're going there, you might as well mention Flaming Pear/Mr. Contrast, the High Pass technique, the myriads of downloadable actions, and maybe even give a step by step account on how you achieved those gems above.
