Backstage in Milwaukee

A few shots with the 40D an Sigma 18-200OS. They pale in comparison to any other here, I realize they are photographic disasters but I wanted to share. We were in the observation lot at Mitchell international Airport in Milwaukee WI. I caught some commercial flights and more importantly the "backstage" takeoff and landing of airshow planes heading out to perform for a crowd over Lake Michigan. When they returned they even turned on the smoke for us in the observation parking lot and did some formations. Really nice of them.

At 1/800 second, I'd expect these to be much sharper. Any idea why they're not?

Three unfortunate reasons for not as sharp as possible.

1. Had camera sharpening at like zero or really low as I was doing high ISO shooting recently.
2. Use Picassa to edit.
3. Extreme crops.

Almost every digital image needs sharpening after resizing. Can you do that with Picassa?

Wow! Small world! I mean WOW!

I was like a few feet to the left of that car when it left! Were you the fella with the 75-300 and Rebel? Or were you over in the corner, where were you?


Your color looks alot better on the sky. I must have got it in a hazy spot.

I was over in the corner near the approach and Layton Ave in the rust colored beat up s-10. Some of mine were hazy too, I must of hit a good spot with this one. My favorite is the car, I think it turned out cool. Were you the guy that was walking over to the other guy in the back of pickup? And ya, I do have an xti with 75-300.
