I had a lens set up to photograph it for an auction. One shot caught a great color, I mirrored it and distorted it.. and played around... they look almost like Opals.

Very nice! Those are cool distorted Zuikos. They do look like gems, or a pair of Hi-tech speakers. I miss my OM-series cameras ..... great little SLR's.

The OM-1 looks small and feels lightweight when put side by side with the 10D and grip. 2 completely different eras. One power dependant, one independant -the OM-1 is like a Rolex, its 100% mechanical except for a TTL lightmeter. Air damped shutter. There are websites that carry mp3 files of the sexy shutter going off. Its a cult like the Canon T90 and Minox I guess.
They sell at all sorts of prices. US$40 to US$140 mint. I sold my other mint one after CLA last year for well over that. The one was CLA about 1999 when I got it.

I love the OM series cameras. I have three, the OM-1, OM-2, and OM-10. The OM1 and 2 are pretty much beat up because I used them a lot, but they still perform perfectly. The lesser OM 10 on the other hand, is in pristine condition, well I didn't really use it. I've had the first two since the 80's (I collect cameras) and they are really a joy to use, with their smaller profile and wacky placement of shutter speed control. Not to mention the lack of a hot shoe!
I think I love the OM2 the best. I remember being pretty amazed by its then cutting edge OTF (Off The Film) metering, it produced excellent pictures.
Carzee, thanks for triggering my memory banks. :)

I wore out my OM 1. It was a great camera. I still have it. When I picked it up not long ago it felt so different than my rebel. I miss it in a way, but I really like the option of chimping that I have now. :)

Oh wow, that's a really nice distortion! Very very futuristic! It's like a pair of shavers+earphones+lens combo.
