Shot my first golf tournament this yesterday. It was a Parent-Child tournament at a local course. Since I was by myself, I had to take orders and then send out prints. I just couldn't figure out how to do print on site. Kids were great, most parents were great. Tried to get a putting shot and tee shot of each child, with pretty good success. I didn't do any downswing shots as that is anti-golf ethics and I think that's what parents really wanted.

Had one parent complain that I didn't come out Saturday to shoot her child. He got to play early since he had a conflict. I just smiled and told her I wasn't aware of that. She then preceeded to tell me that since I was the event photographer it was my responsibility to know these things. I told her no one mentioned it to me so I can't do, what I don't know.

Another parent said my pictures of her daughter didn't show her true golf talent and weren't good enough to print (apparently, she has never seen her daughter play). I asked if I could see her pictures so that I could compare quality. She said she didn't have time to take any as she was at the pool. I just smiled and said OK.

Overall, positive experience. Staff at the club was very accomodating and truly happy I was there. I'd probably do it again but do some things differently.

Funny stuff. Sounds like you handled yourself in a truly professional manner. Can't please everybody all the time.

'didn't capture his daughter's true talent ...' Yeah, right!!!
