Bird I.D ?

Ok I know the background is a bit much, and I cut his foot off, but he has such a nice coloured head lol Anyone know what it is? Another Perth Zoo shot.

It's a jabiru or black-necked stork - Ephippiorhynchus asiaticus. Beautiful in his own way. Thanks for sharing it, Sandi.

Guessed it was a stock ok, but that was as far as I go. Maybe he should be called Blue necked Stock, his neck is an amazing petrol (gas for Americans :-) ) bluey colour. Nice photo.

Actually it was quite tall! It was almost as tall as me and I am 5'7

I am from Perth too, I will have to get down to the zoo and get some pics myself. The last time I was there I only had my poxy point and shoot 2 point something mega pixel camera and all the animals turned out as tiny dots in the photos. I couldn't zoom close enough. HHHH, that won't be happening again :)

If you take a trip to Kakadu and go for a Yellow Waters cruise you'll probably see wild ones. Their size is quite startling. Lovely photo.

I have a Canon 300D...I looked at the 350D but it was a little out of my budget.
