So, still waiting on photo passes for McCartney at Fenway, BUT, i just won a spot to shoot video of the entire show on Aug 5.

I think it's like that film a few years ago where they give a group of people video cameras, have them shoot the show, then augment the concert video with that footage.

could be cool. here's hoping i get passes for thursday's show...

I'm still waiting to hear too... 225 feet makes me not really care if I get credentialed. 90% of the reason I bother is because I like getting an elbow on the stage...

225'? Wow. That's 400mm+ territory. And lots of the same shots...

If the stage is in center field (and probably a good 75-100 feet from the wall), that means the "pit" is somewhere between the pitchers mound and 2nd base....

Since they lock off the infield, I think 225 is a little bit of a stretch.... but who knows.

yeah, that distance was given to me a guy who shot the NYC show..obviously it will be venue-specific, so Fenway might actually be smaller due to the infield restrictions...

by my rough dusting off of the pythagorean theorem, the center of the field is roughly 212' from home plate, or 200' from the deepest part of center field. i'm trying to recall where the stage was for Phish, and i think it was probably around the 380' mark. since the soundboard will be towards the back of the field, it won't be closer than ~170'...i'd say a ballpark figure of 200' isn't so far off.

get it, ballpark!


in other words, bring a long lens. or shoot images off the video screen.
