Well I missed all the F3/GT action at Croft this weekend as I was covering a rally a bit further North near Alnwick but we had much the same weather with the marble sized hailstones aswell:(
So here are a few shots from the event
I quite like this one because of the rainbow in the background
All shot with the 1DMKII and 70-200 f2.8 Lis apart from the flying Sunbeam which was with the 24-70 f2.8L
Cheers

Hi Ian.
Fantastic shots, particularly 1, 3 and 5. I was disappointed that I missed this rally. Shutter speed on the shots is spot on - I like the motion blur in the sprayed water rather than it being completely frozen. The effect you've captured makes the shot more effective IMHO.
Cheers,
Simon.

I agree, I really like the motion blur of the water, it give the picture some more energy.

Outstanding work Ian. I particularly like the third image as the car looks like it is about to take off! Do these guys have steering wheels or joysticks??

Wonderful action shots, Ian.
Freezing the car and blurring the water, that is good!

The Sunbeam that looks like it is taking off didn't make the left hand bend about 50 yards from where it is there and he ended up in a ditch, but the few spectators that were around managed to get him back on.
Thanks for the comments
Cheers

Nice work Ian, bloody excellent in fact. Me and rallies don't go too well together. I like the thought that I can duck down behind some Armco when an errant driver wants to mow me down. At rallies, the trees to hide behind never seemed to be where I wanted them.

Fantastic photos Ian - love the rainbow effect from the water on #2 - think #1 is my favourite.
