The essentials...that is.....if you were in the Civil War. This is a shot I took at a reenactment of the Civil War battle of Ft. Pemberton @ Florewood State Park.

The technique is good (I really think you've mastered HDR), but it's missing something as a photograph in terms of the story. It doesn't have a story.
The hunting corner and old collectibles kept my eyes on them for several minutes. It was like a candy store for the eyes.
This one doesn't do that for me. I hope that's not too harsh. I really love the image quality you've been getting.

I understand what you mean, the story of the image to me is...in that sack was "the essentails" for the soldier... such as gunpowder, lead balls (bullets), and even food, etc., the pistol and the sword were also a means of survival for the soldiers. That's the story that came to mind when I took the photo anyway. ;)

Maybe you could have the bag lying on its side, with the contents kind of spilled out.
