O/confusion's recent urban post (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=71430)inspired me to focus on shapes and textures in composition. This is one of the results.

Honestly, I am not sure if I like this or not..... It seems to be of nothing and something at the same time. This seems a little confusing to me!!! I must like it as I have has to go back and have a peak a few times to determine how to end this post!!

Interesting. Maybe a little more contrast to get that "punch" between the shaded underside of the step and the side-wall of the step. Unfortunately, I think the blue pole takes away from the overall effectiveness of this shot.

I like it. But the blue cylinders in the background threw me off somewhat.

Thanks Alan, BB. The blue poles were a major issue when composing the shot. I tried to "put" them in the least conspicuous spot, while retaining the angles on the steps. There just wasn't a pleasing location, so I went with what I felt was the least offensive. I think if they parallel to the lines in the steps, they would have added to the shot. But, no luck. All this while I was keeping my "back eyes" on my son playing nearby. Next time I'll bring a hacksaw...
Here is another from that day:

I frequently like pictures like these, without ever being able to explain exactly why. I like this one. I don't think the blue poles are so bad; blue and orange are a striking combination.
