I've been getting into surf photography more and more lately and have a question. This picture was shot with the 100-400L (not by me) and I'm wondering if there's any way to eliminate the shadow on the surfer's face at this distance?

Did you just manipulate it in PS?

Hi there! I saw the other poster had not responded yet, but this is what I did.
Used the magic wand tool to just select the surfer's head and face. I then used curves to lighten it to my liking. While it was still selected, I added a little contrast. I am sure there are many ways to achieve it, but that is how I got my results.
