Hey everyone. I know that this has been asked multitude of times but its time for a new bag. I have a great photography store nearby and have looked at their selection of bags. They are big in backpacks, which im trying to avoid, and currently do not have Crumpler items at all. Anyway I have seen and looked up the Crumpler 6MDH for the past week now and seem to really think it will be a bag for me to carry my gear and take with me on capus and on my travels.

I currently have the Lowepro 100AW sling. It is a nice bag and like the design, but it just screams "camera bag!" and is getting too small with my new gear. My real question is would I be able to fit:

Canon XSi gripped w/17-55mm f/2.8 attached with reversed hood
Tokina 11-16mm
Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 IS....for the future
random nicknacks and such

Would I be happy if I pulled the trigger and ordered this online?
Thanks for all the help! Its hard to judge when you cant find one in a store to look at.

It can be done. I get all that and a nifty fifty in mine. But it is stuffed with all that. Hardly closes. I don't mind though, cause once the camera and a lens come out, the bag is a perfect size to keep slung around the shoulder.

Do you keep your camera and lens attached? and if so which one? Would you mind maybe posting some pictures of the packing since we have similar gear?

I keep the 17-55 attached with the hood reversed on it and all the other lenses. There are memory cards/batteries/misc. stuff packed in the little side pockets and zipper pocket in the top.

i have the 6MDH and it (tightly) fits my XSi, 70-200, 24-70, 50, and 430ex II on top of everything. i almost wish i went one step bigger, but found that i don't need more than this and prefer a smaller bag anyway. you should be happy with it! :)

Check out my review of the Lowepro 160AW. I also own the 6MDH and perhaps this review will change your mind. They are great bags and I use them both.

I own the 6 million dollar bag and it is great for a light load. I use my backpack more, however, as I prefer the even weight distribution.

I use the Think Tank Rotation 360, as it's a great backpack, distributes the weight and is accessible without removing it.

I'm kind of in the same boat. In my 6MDH I carry my 5D2, 24-70L attached, 100-400L, 580EX II, bulb blower and accessories. The weight eventually makes itself known especially on long day trips. It's better if I wear the strap across my chest. But, my backpack (Kata 3n1-30) is much better for full load distribution.

I have the 6MDH and it snugly (which I like with my camera gear) holds my gripped XTi w/ Tamron 17-50 attached, Tamron 70-300, 430ex flash, nifty fifty and there's plenty of room for memory cards, batteries, etc in the front and lid pockets. I am very pleased with the bag.

that will fit fine in the 6mdh

i have both the old and the new one
each have their differences...but i kinda like the older one more

there are only a couple of things i like about the new design...
1. quiet velcro flaps....i shot a funeral today and didnt wake the ....you know
2. top handle is more sturdier

i hate with a passion the following:
1. zipper mesh on the flap is smaller than the old one
2. snot green interior...but it doesnt bother me so much

In my opinion the 6 MDH doesn't quite close well enough with the 70-200 2.8. It's closed, but not all the way.

That said, I love the 6 MDH and you could use it for the 2.8.

If you're planning for the 70-200 2.8 in the future, you should try out the Lowepro Classified 160aw, just like sf-loft said.

The 160aw is convenient for the times you need to take your 70-200 mounted and ready to shoot. The 6MDH doesn't give you the capability.

Also, when the zipper of the 160aw is unzipped to allow a mounted and gripped camera, it still is a little slimmer from the side.

I have the 8MDH (in the same gray/red/lime color), and it allows me to carry a 70-200 mounted also.

As far as price, they're nearly the same... I believe that the 6MDH is 109 from BH, and you can get the 160aw on ebay for near that same price. I got mine from eBay user "sellnsend", and they're legit for Lowepro.
