What makes this model special ? Or more generally : What makes a good looking model ? Now i don't mean the obvious things like that he/she is easy to work with etc, I mean how the model looks.

I have NOT taken the attached pictures but they served my purpose very well since I think this particular model is very good.

To be brutally honest I do not think she is particularly "special". She is attractive and has a nice smile, and I am sure she is special to someone.

each individual is "special" in their own way. However in looking at her, she has very define facial features. Which is alot easier to shoot in a photographer's point of view.

Being a model is off topic in this forum I believe. So I won't go in to details regarding that.

I don't think she's special either. She's pretty but nothing out of the ordinary. The shape of her face isn't the most flattering - long and skinny.

In image #3, here eyes make her special. That and the playful, coy look on her face. Images 1 and 2 don't stand out for me. She's pretty, and has that "girl next door" look, but she doesn't jump out as special in those two images.

So, I'd say that the pose and facial expressions have a big effect on whether someone stands out in a photo or not.

Let me add that I think that the lighting in #3 is a bit softer than in 1 and 2. Perhaps that adds a bit as well, or maybe not. I'm not sure.

Its the earings? Maybe the eyes.

OT - these pics show the advantage of using fill flash don't they?

Her personality comes through, & with the better lighting on the last one, she has a nice 'look', too.

She had a models nose - long and pointed - high cheek bones - lose the ear rings - I'd hire her! Oh, yes friendy eyes - ask me a question and I will answer it!

That makes a lot of sense I think, and answers my question quite well. :D

Oh, yes friendy eyes

Couldn't agree more now that you say it, could get lost in them.

I'm with Tom on this one, the only one I think that made her look special at all was the third shot and it is definitely her eyes. The lighting and her expression give a lot of depth to her eyes in that shot. The others are actually pretty much ho-hum portraits.
