For those that dont know, stormpay is an alternate to Paypal.

I may be forced to sign up with Stormpay to get paid for some stuff so im doing some research. I did a googlegroups search and I dont really like what I read there. I also dont like thier higher fee's than paypal.

Anyone here with experience with them?

Never heard of them till you posted this.
Why would you have to use them to get paid anyway?

never heard of them easier.

Why would someone not accept using paypal (or checks?) but be OK with using an almost unknown, overpriced, late comer. Judging by the amount of media coverage they are getting (none) I bet stormpay are out of business by year end. Plus their website looks like it was designed by someone who knows plenty about coding and nothing about graphical design. They don't seem to have anything to separate themselves from paypal/ebay.

Receiving funds costs 6.9% plus 69 cents

Im using site that pays you to search using google, and now they only pay using stormpay. They were going to use paypal but apperantly the owner got his paypal account closed since some people emailed paypal and reported him as a scammer. At least thats what I gathered from an unofficial forum. Time will tell if its a scam or not *well 6 days* if thy pay out or not. The only personal info they asked for was an email address and paypal email address, which apperantly is now a stormpay email address.

The site has been around for 6 years I think, unless my memory is wrong. Also in reading google groups, the site isnt based in the states like the contact us leads you to believe, but over in europe somewhere. Again, just something I read in google groups.

If its not a scam and it actually pays out, and I have to join stormpay, I dont plan to give them any credit or bank info, just ask to receive a check by mail, which apperantly is free, but takes up to 2 weeks. A verified check is like $20 and an international verified check is like $35. Way over priced.

And agree'd, the site doesnt look professional at all, which is one of my hesitations. Their FAQ is also concerning in some areas. I think with paypal, if someone pays you using thier credit card and later it turns out they didnt have the money in the credit card, the buyer doesnt loose the money. At least not that I have heard. But with this site you can get the money revoked if it happens.
