how you get ideas

how do u people get ideas for your shoots? i like browsing throough model mayhem...i used to use flickr but i never get the search results like i am looking for....what does everyone else use to search for others photos?

I just get out my camera, pick out a lens, and then walk/drive/bike/paddle/ around and look at stuff. When I see something I like, I take a picture (or twelve).

I like to carry a little notebook around with me. Then, when I see something or get an idea about what might make an interesting image, I write it down. Later, I can think about the idea some more, flesh out the details, and then eventually turn it into an image.

Hey Mark - can you come to my city and do that, stop before you get to the "turn it into an image" part and then hand over the notebook to me? :D

(Note that I cannot cook without a recipe to follow either!)
