I just love this white VW Bug sitting next to this patch of wildflowers in my neighborhood, and i've been photographing it for the last few days trying to get a great shot. I think the scene has potential, but so far, I have not been able to come up with a winning angle or DOF that makes the image really great.

Here's a few different shots, 1 done at night. any suggestions would be appreciated.

thanks. :)

this one is probably my favorite, perhaps it just needs more DOF and not have the VW so blurred.

I think you're on the right track with the last one. Just get it without the trucks in the background. I don't think you need too much more DOF. I think a bug is recognizable regardless of the focus!

How about standing on the balcony across the street (shot #2) and zooming in with a long telphoto so you see just the bug framed by the flower garden.

I guess it depends on what You want to convey?

In the last shot You have the flowers as the main object but in the first two its the vw.

Of the 3 I think the last is best even though I don't feel that its the vw that is the subject in this one.

ohh, and that big logo is kind of distracting and destroying the photos. And it really serves no purpose.

so you are comfortable posting your images without any kind of watermark or identification?

i put it there for a purpose, i'm sure people can see what i am trying to do whether it's there or not.

I put a small copyright in one of the corners so it does not distract from the photo itself. Because no matter how You do it if someone wants to steal Your photo they will do it and they will just use PS to remove the logo. I assume that You put it there to prevent someone from stealing it right?

i guess you are right that if someone wants to steal it they will. i've had images stolen before when i had small logos in the corner, i guess i'm just being more aggressive about trying to avoid that. i wouldn't do that normally if i was displaying the work someplace, but for something on a photography forum, i figure people would understand and are going to look at the image itself and not some transparent text that runs through it. I can change it if people really think it's a big problem for critiquing the image itself.

i think you're right, except i think a little less blurry could be more exciting. going to go shoot it again right now, so we'll see. :)

so you are comfortable posting your images without any kind of watermark or identification? Yes. If someone wants to steal a low-res, copyrighted image, then let them. I can PS out your info in about 10 minutes & it really make your pics hard to enjoy.
