Don't know, but if you check his past items for sale, they are very cheap T-shirts and stuff like that. I would guess a possibly hi-jacked ebay account?

That is amazing. I wonder if the auction ended before its scheduled time.
Sometimes you can get a good deal on an item because it is not listed effectively (many people will miss it in their search). E.g. used Mamiya 6 75mm lenses were going for about $300-400, but I found one listing (and won) for about $200 because they listed it as a Mamiya "6MF" lens (and I know there were other Mamiya 6 people looking for this lens.) So it should have been listed as 'Mamiya 6 6MF' to get more hits. Not sure if this was the case for "Canon EOS-1DS"...sometimes the '-' may throw the search off...not likely though, since there were over 380 visits.

Interesting...what is a hijacked account? Would the rightful owner be aware of these activities if they are an active seller?

Looks like it ended early because the times didn't match(just different days). Usually it will say it was ended early.

It ended a little after 4 days. It doesn't seem like it was listed in the wrong category either. As for low starting price, normally experienced eBay sellers who know their item is hot seller, will start the price really low to avoid high eBay insetion fee. Just like the 70-200f4L i've been watching, mostly started at US$0.99. So this 1Ds deal looks ok to me, especially with a Buy-It-Now price says £1700.

Still you learn your lesson I guess. Now I know not everyone is as honest/nice/loving and cute as me ;)
