I'm searching around for a decent priced 50D + Lens. I've been saving for a DSLR since I was in 8th grade.. 5 years ago. I don't work much (about 1 day a week at Vans) so I'm not making much of anything. Listed, the kit is around $1300, and I only have $480 at the moment. Saving sucks :/
So if anyone is selling a 50D kit and doesn't mind waiting for me to fully buy or receiving payments, please PM me or comment back on here.
I know i probably sound crazy for even posting when i have no money, but you really have no idea how badly I've been wanting this camera. I'm going to college for photography and need a camera for my courses, and I cant really get any work with models if I don't have a camera.. I'm just hoping that someone will cut me a break somewhere because I've been trying to do all this on my own and its not really working out too well. :/
Thank you for your time,
Sarah

Good luck, all I can tell you is keep saving. It will be hard to find a private seller to make payments that you don't know in real life cause many things can go wrong w/ payment plans between private individuals. Just keep saving that money and you can get a 50D for about $940 on this site practically brand new. I bought my 40D off of here and it was BNIB and saved me a couple hundred. The 40D and 50D are very similiar, so why not the 40D? But then again depending on what school you go to they have camera requirements.. I start photography school in Sept at Harrington in Chicago and I need at least a 50D. I don't want to part w/ my 40D :( What school will you be attending?

I'd go with a 20D and save for the lens. Don't worry too much about the body right now. Anyway to get loans for school?

Our studio is about to sell our 50D and we might work with you on payments.

A lot of people are saying to save for the lens, but I will grow out of the 20 or 40 D too quickly. So I figure I might as well just get used to the 50D and then save for the lens; basically just skip a step.

Well I thought about going with the 40D but decided I would like the 50D better. That was a long decision making process haha. But I'm not sure on the school yet. For now I'm just going to community college for my associates in photography, then I'll transfer to either Cal State San Marcos, Brooks Institute, or The Art Institute in OC.

Brooks institute is awesome, if you can go there, do it. Harrington is using a brooks layout for photography on their courses.
But there isn't much difference between the 40D and 50D and if you think you will outgrow the 40D you can say that about the 50D when they come out with the 60D.

Yeah I suppose that's true, but I'm just very set on the 50D haha. But yeah, I think the only way I'm going to Brooks is with a LOT of student loans haha

Yup, that was my problem of not going there, way too expensive for me.

We decided yesterday that we are going to sell the 50D and if we could help out another Studio by working out payments we would be glad to help. Let me know what you have in mind as in payment schedule.

But you won't outgrow good lenses ;)
