nice! :) having the bird in the frame added a "story" to shot. trying to be profound (hehehe!), one can't help but be reminded that one may not be alone (/in a crowd)but still be lonely in the midst of the concrete "jungle"...

Nice shot.
I think your bird might not be so alone. Looks like there is another bird hidden by the building on the right. Nothing a little clone stamp couldn't get rid of :D :D .

Thanks for the comments! I just felt like exercising my haiku skills yesterday :) I was wondering when the second bird would be noticed, you have a good eye, Rbn. I left it there - somehow it detracts from reality if I clone him out. After all, in this big city, we could be alone even though we're not really alone. I hope I meant sense :)
Taken with my trusty G6, with a wide angle converter. This is at Columbus Circle, at the SW corner of Central Park. the building on the right is Trump Tower, I believe that's where the Donald lives.

I think Peregrine falcons live very well in big cities: lots of tasty pigeons! Well seen. I am still unconnected to the internet from home, where all my new images are, but at least it looks like "home" be finally move this week!

Fine image, shows well how photography can strive to be an artform.
Yeah, probably without 20 k$ worth of gear and hours spent tweeking and re-doing the image in Photoshop or some such.
Incidentally, ave you done some post-processing on that sky ?

Dwight, Lee, yes I think these are peregrine falcons. They do keep the NYC pigeon population in check. Dwight I hope you are settled soon so you can post more of your pics.
Petkal, it was the sky that attracted me in the first place. I love taking pictures of skies, as I am building a sky library (for possible use in other pictures). This pic was taken in the dying light of dusk, all I did in PP was to adjust brightness and contrast.
I'm glad you all liked it!
