I like it. Have always liked that uber-compressed look that TS lenses can give to long-distance shots.

Sorry to be the downer, but I think you're actually too far away.
The sharp band simply doesn't hold enough detail to create the strong effect you're looking for. Yes it's there a bit, but not enough.
You could likely get a stronger effect simply by cropping in closer before you do the fake TS.

Thanks for the comments! It was a fun first attempt (I'll post the non T/S version as I did this in PP, not with a T/S lens) but I agree with Chris and Flo; I keep squinting when I look at it, and therefore keep realizing I'm just too far, the in-focus section just isn't enticing enough...

Not that it gets me any closer to the houses, but I did just realize how much detail I lost in conversion.
Just for fun, I though you might like to see what this image looked like straight out of the camera, shot at an awkward angle out of the horribly scratched and filthy window of a commercial plane:
