Comments on this? I like it for some reason, not sure why though.

honestly it does nothing for the shot to have a huge OOF player in front of the pitcher..

haha, my wife says exactly the same thing...still not sure why I like it, but I do.

The flash on the batters helmet with the chain link in it is almost more distracting than the player being in the shot.

The pink batting helmet and the flare spot are just to distracting. If you had moved a bit to the right and placed the batter in the lower left corner while including more pitcher I think it might have worked better. As for this shot try cropping right at the top of the helmet, losing that flare spot, just showing the pitcher from the glove up or just a hint of the helmet. Don't forget to straighten the horizon line.
