Hi I shoot alot of house parties, and was recently asked to shoot some club venues, Im shooting with a 20D and have a speedlight 550EX, and possibly a 430EX as well as ST-E2, Lenses; 18-55 IS, 50mm 1.8, and 17-85

First question is what kinda settings/ function should I be using?
- I havent used the 550EX much but shot with a manual sunpak for awhile, usually set on AV mode F-stop as low as possible and ISO at 400

second question is; is there any benifit from setting up a second flash near an area with lots of stuff going on set up as a bounce to get better lighting in that particular area.

I have never shot a club before, but from attending clubs and seeing photographers shoot, I have really never seen anyone set anything up. Very rarely I have seen someone have an assistant with them. Usually the photographers are moving around so much, and there are so many people that it would be inconvenient and probably not the safest plan to leave equipment out. There are always those people who had to many to drink or have sticky fingers who might walk away with or mess with your stuff. But then again, you could always talk to the club manager and see if you could set a flash up in the DJ booth or somewhere no one would have access too.
