Hi everyone, haven't posted here in quite a while. I currently have a 30D with the lenses as in my Sig. I've had it for over a year and had a 20D before that and a 300D before that, and a fully manual film SLR before that. So I know the camera very well and essentially know how to use it.

On Saturday I've been asked by a friend to help him take some photos of some models in Lingerie for a new website being set up by his cousin. My friend has access to a 50D I think he said it was but no idea what lenses or other equipment. I have never done this kind of shoot before so was hoping to get some tips or advice. I don't even have any lighting equipment or even an external flash, so will have to make do with the camera flash (though I he may have an external flash to use as well) and see if we can bodge some kind of reflector together.

I plan to shoot in RAW, but other than that can you recommend anything or offer any tips for someone who's got plenty of experience, but none of it doing glamour shoots or even working with models for that matter.

The shoot will be most likely outside in strong sunlight (France) but not sure where yet.

Any tips appreciated.

cheers

So you are shooting models and have no lighting equipment? Or experience working with models and want to know how to do it?

Oh yea, and I forgot to mention that I have a ND filter anf Polarising filter (only for the Zoom lens) and also that none of the models are professionals, though one is a pretty mean pole/lap dancer!

yep, that's pretty much it. Sounds crazy I know but hey, I figured it would be fun and I'm not getting paid so no pressure :)

sounds like you will be working close to windows with natural light. you may try the oncamera flash but may be harsh... but used with some natural light you may be ok. if they have a closed off private back yard you may be able to shoot some of the photos outside with sunlight.

you may want to get some large white poster board or something like that to use for reflectors with the natural light for fill.

just remember to have fun, shoot raw, put the models at ease and you should be ok. good luck and let us see some of the pictures for c&c

Thanks Steve, that's the kind of stuff I'm after, just ideas and tips to get me thinking along the right lines and things I won't think of having not done this before!

Will most definitely have to be outside due to lighting, not sure where but it's rural france and the girls aren't shy so privacy won't be a problem :)
