Black N White, Yay or Nay?

Hi Guys:

I'm pretty new at pp and don't do much B&W conversions. what do you think of this one? success? or should i have left it alone? thanks!
(I didn't process the color one... too lazy:rolleyes:)

I kinda like it. It's an improvement over the original. Then again, so would an edited color version be ;)

One thing that I don't like is that the shot is out of focus: Focus is probably somewhere around his left eye / left ear.

Isn't the focus supposed to be on the near side eye of the performer?

I like the B&W conversion. It isolates the performer nicely from the background...since there's not much going on back there anyway.

It does look like the camera focused on the back eye so the high contrast B&W helps from making that too distracting.
