I noticed in the picture information from the camera, it says, photographers name, how do you put your name in there? I have not been able to figure it out.
Thanks, rw

I think it is through parts of the Canon software that comes with your camera. It's been a year since I did mine.

yeah, install the canon software, and go through the options on that. It'll let you put your name in there, so when you look at your EXIF data, it has your name

Not to sound smart, but you also need to have your camera connected to your computer to do this. I used my firewire connection, but I would imagine that the USB would work as well.I just did this a few weeks ago.

I did it with USB, I think it's in EOS viewer.

yeah, depending on your camera, you may only have USB anyway (the 20D I know doesn't have firewire).
But yeah, you use the Canon EOS viewer software and need to have the camera hooked up and turned on at the time

That was the one and only time that my camera got hooked up to the computer by cable, just to set the owner name. After that on Day One, it was strictly memory cards in the card reader.

My fault:o You are absolutely right. I have the 20D and I did not use firewire. I do not know what I was thinking. It was USB that I had used and the EOS Viewer to set my info in the camera.

Does this also apply to the 10D as well?

Cool, I was wondering that myself. Just did it. It's in the EOS Viewer - Option - Camera Settings

Just on principle, I include my phone number along with my name in that field. I figure it certainly won't hurt.

That way, if your camera gets lost, it can call you up to come and get it!

Thanks, I hooked up to the computor, and did it, I don't know how I missed it the first time, must have been, just wanting to get it going and get outside.
This is a great site, and I want to thank all who help make it that way. rw
