Has anyone played with Media Chance Dynamic Photo HDR? I'm browsing their manual in work, and came across their Light Mask feature. That feature alone looks pretty darned interesting.

I guess that I'd describe it as a Curve applied to the HDR, a curve that creates a mask which affects the Strength of the HDR processing. Also interesting is that it has a Blur option to blur the mask.

Light Mask also includes a Hue Graph which allows you to play with the coloring by changing the hue of specific colors. It also uses a Curves theme to soften the changes. I'd guess that this could be done post-processing in Photoshop, but - if this works how I imagine - it should work better on the full 32-bit HDR.

The manual is at http://www.mediachance.com/hdri/help/index.html, then expand Tone Mapping, and go to Light Mask.

I'll have to try this software soon.

I tired it too Scott and its one of the better ones out there, although in some cases it does leave behind some strange artifacts. Also is one called Unified Color's HDR PhotoStudio (http://www.unifiedcolor.com/).
You can find a little bit about it here, which is a great place for HDR news too http://www.hdrlabs.com/news/index.php.
I get the funny feeling where just seeing the tip of the iceberg with all this stuff, and it will get better and better, at least I'm hoping so.
