While I have been loving my Quadra so far, one thing I don't love about it is the strap. I find the way it attaches to the top of the pack gets in the way of the controls. I like the "Snappy" I have for my Ranger, so I decided to try a simplified version for my Quadra. Some 2" flat webbing, a couple of buckles and a little time on the sewing machine produced this. It's easy to remove to change the battery and has a nice loop to hang it from a light stand. Just used it on a job last night, and it works great.

Hi Steve!

I to love my snappy cases for my Ranger RX, and would probably like something similar to my Ranger if padded enough.

Tossed the supplied strap in the drawer, its way to thin imo.

Now i use my Lowepro Nova 200 strap if i need to carry it alone, otherwise is pretty much stays in the bag. Neat thing is that i dont need two straps, i just take the strap off the bag and attach it to the Quadra when i need to carry it.

Thanx for sharing.

Kindest

Hi Paul,

When you say it stays in the bag, are you carrying the Quadra inside the Nova 200? If so, how does it fit, and what else do you carry in it?

Thanks,
Steve

Hi Steve!

Yes i carry it in the bag, and unless i have a assistent holding the pack on a California sunbounce rig its stays in the bag.

I fit this into the Lowepro Nova 200 (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showpost.php?p=8121563&postcount=132)

*Quadra

*A head with standard reflector (13,5cm)

*18cm reflector with grid.

*Quadra to Elinchrom mount adapter

*3 cables (1.5m, 2,5m and 3,5m)

*Pocketwizard

Thanks for the info, Paul. I hadn't thought of using a bag to carry my Quadra, but that seems like it would work pretty well. I'm thinking about getting a Think Tank Urban Disguise for mine, either the 30 or the 40.
