It might not seem worth it at 5am.
It will when you process the shots.
That's a beautiful sunrise.
Where would it be ?

Manhatten beach or Coney Island or neither.
Nice Shot.
For you is worth it. For me I would've been asleep for about an hour or so.

Looks like it was worth it to me. Nice photo.
I am a late sleeper myself, but when I'm on a photo trip I love getting up early. A year ago I was staying at bryce canyon and got up an hour before sunrise to photograph the best light. When I got to the rim of the canyon there were already 20 photographers setup.
Really like your shot. If you're going to be doing a lot of these type of photos (sunrise/sunset) you might want to by a neutral density filter.

the setting of the image is nice. however. I think the contrast was too great. I would have used a graduated filter.

Yes, it's worth it! Nice shot!
I'm habitually 10-15 mins. late to work, regardless. I just have a rough time getting out of bed and getting motivated to head in M-F. (if you're wondering, yes, I'm evaluating a job/career adjustment).
Saturdays or Sundays on the other hand, I'm out of bed at 4 am for picture shoot'n, hiking, roadtrips, etc.

Oh it's worth it. It's really worth it, just not at 5 am everyday.

I didn't know that hour existed...
Apparently there are some nice shots to be had at that ungodly hour though...

Now there is another reason I moved to the west coast. Sunset over the Pacific comes at a much more civil time of day than sunrise on the Atlantic.
Nice shot though.

Thank you all for your motivating replies. The shot was taken in Raw and the processed in Zoombrowser...I have three day sunrise shots from my vacation (Ft. Lauderdale by the way, Florida) and every day I took like 30-40 shots of the sunrise, from the time it was under the horizon and untill like 15 min. after it came up. Just for the fresh, rich sea smell I think it was worth to get up that early...by the way I, myself am a lazy f*** in the morning...it happens every day I go to work, I guess if I worked as a photographer it wouldn't be so, I hope I'll find out one day.
Thanks again for the feedback and I love critics so thank you.
Best regards,
Artan

Wow, I really couldn't do it everyday...:( ...but I would loved too, for the sole reason that most photographers are lazy to do so and really that time it is the best light available to take great shots, not only sunrise but landscape photos too.

Artan.
P.S.
Peter, thank you for your nice comments...
