I have a 20 year old niece that would like to get more experience and exposure in modeling. She has some exposure to the industry. Her mother was a model, and she has had a shoot with a pro at least once that I know of. She is about 5' 10", thin, and 1/4 Asian (I think) Anyway, she has an exotic look about her.
Now here's a sticky situation that may be breaking the rules. (I may have already broken the rules!) She posted some shots from the Pro shoot she did on her MySpace page. She gave me permission to download them and post them. Don't I need permission from the Photog? There are no copyright or watermarks on these photos.
Any suggestions would be really helpful.
Thanks so much!

I depends on how the release reads, but in the absence of a release you should get his permission.

Thanks hawk. I have no idea what the agreement/release was. I guess I should ask her.

A lot of releases allow for personal use, which can be broadly interpreted in my experience. Best to have a look at the release. If he's a pro, it's likely spelled out decently clearly.

Thanks so much. I'll have to ask her about the release. What I really want to do, is post her pictures to get opinions from G & N people to see if she has a future in modeling, and how to get her started. She's a student and works as a waitress.

I would think if you are NOT claiming them as your own and NOT getting paid for them in any way, you are just sharing something they created, it should be ok. The most you'd have to do is remove them if either of them requested.

Get a copy of the agreement. Do you know who the other photog is? IS he/she REALLY a Pro...and what defines them as a Pro?

I have emailed the photog for permission. I just found that she is actually on his web page. www.larrybollig.com. She is the one in the pink coat and the beaded dress. There is a close up of her embedded under the beaded dress shot. Use the arrow upper right to see. She's in the fashion portfolio section.

If they are not your images and you don't have permission from the photographer to repost them, but she does, you can post a link to them with credit to the photographer.

However, if I understand you correctly, your intent is to post them to G&N to get feedback as to whether your niece has modeling potential. That's a bit of a gray area - G&N is for the discussion of your own images and techniques associated with them. I'd recommend you post links to them here in the G&N Discussion area (as you did above), where the discussion is most appropriate.

From the images I've seen there, she has a future as a model. As to how to get started, it looks like she's already working on it. :)

I wasn't planning on posting in G&N, just in here. Again, looking for opinions and/or suggestions on how to get her "out there" I really have no clue.

Just got permission from the photog.

What she looks like is not much of an indicator of if she could have history modeling. Thats like telling you I have a 1DSMkIII and asking if I have a future in photography. Modeling is not nearly as much about looks are people see on the surface. Obviously you need to fit the specs, but that only offers you a mere chance. The rest has to do with her skill, attitude, drive and willingness to learn. She also will need to be very thick skinned and be able to take rejection and strong critique.
