A cabinet maker's shop went up in fire. The laquer and other chemicals really accelerated it. I think that they saved the cement foundation:rolleyes:
Shot with Tamron 28-300, Cropped only with Picasa2

Cool pics.

I hope the fire spread to that ugly Silerado Billboard.

Great captures, Skip. That Tamron lens is quite good. What a range! I hope no one got hurt in the fire.

Nice shots Skip. Love the second one. With all the paints and chemicals that must have been one quick hot fire.

I first spotted the fire from over seven miles away because of a narrow column of black at least a thousand feet high. It went up hard and fast. No one was seriously hurt, thank god.

My fireman is coming out in me.... Why is deluge gun in operation. From the pics the fire dosen't require such amounts of water. BTW Cool shots

C'mon, you know how it is with boys and their toys. I think they use every fire as a training opportunity. They haven't lost a foundation yet
Here are a couple more from the same fire.

Nice pics Scip.

Seems like you stayed 'till the end of the fire...I like the way you captured the action from the beginning till the end...You can make a story out of those...I can't wait till one day I also as many of you guys upgrade to a DSLR, then I will have more questions to ask and much more things to learn...cheers.

Best regards,
Artan

Artan,
You have a fine camera in that G6, Keep it with you and opportunities will present themselves. Sometimes it is better to be lucky than good. Glad I got lucky 'cause I'm sure not good.

Thank you Marie,
This just the way they came out of the camera, no post processing except resizing for posting. I only used Picasa 2 because I am terrible with Elements 2

I never heard of Picasa 2 but it sounds good

:) the word reminded me of the artist Picasso
the picture... Picasso it may not be (which maybe is good:lol: ) but it is like a painting.

I like how the remains lie , so dejected looking among the smoke and flames
beautiful capture.
lovely colours
it would make a great and unusual picture framed

maybe crop (or wipe) off the bar/rubber hose at the bottom ... if framing it
:)
