Nice shots. Did you get a photo pass? I posted a set up here a couple of weeks ago from a NJ show. Seems like you had betetr lighting than I did.

In the 40 times I have seen them live, I have seen Popper with a guitar in his hand once.

Thanks , I did'nt have a pass but was pretty much right up against the stage. I got a few good shots but alot of them have focus issues ( 40d or me ??? ). Third time I've seen them ; always great.......

i used my 40d as well. in that environment, it is tough to get a high rate of keepers. what lenses/settings were you using?

I used My 70-200 F/2.8L IS . The first was 1/250 , f 2.8 , iso 1600 . The second was 1/100, f 3.2, iso 1000 . Both were spot metered , center focus , manual mode in raw. I think the hardest thing is getting the shutter speed and aperture high enough to get good/any DOF . I also might be having some back focusing issues going on but I not sure...
