GREAT SHOT!! IMO the only thing bugging me is that it seems to be a tad bit oversharpened, but definately one for the portfolio!!! I would be very happy to have taken it!!!

Nice photo.
Is the reflection a softbox? Also on my crappy laptop screen, the side of his face and hair appears to have some artifacts left over from unsharp mask.
Don't get me wrong. Great look and feel in the picture. :-)

yes. a softbox is the front lighting. i might have over sharpened but it didnt look that bad in hi res

I really like this pic, nice job. Sort of reminds me of Carlos Santana trying to do an Ian Anderson.

I like it. Very cool. You've inspired me to mess with hair and fans.

I've taken a similar photo with lots of contrast in the hair. As with your photo, I thought the highlights in the hair really seemed to jump out too much. A very quick fix that worked really well was to use Select-->Color Range-->Highlights, then deselect the stuff you don't want to change, and then fill with a light grey (or whatever color works best). Worked very well for my photo.

I'm impressed! Not only can you take photos but you at least own a flute.....

Very nice job but I do find the reflection on the glasses distracting.
