Looks like i have to return my 300d to the shop due to a dodgy lense. I dont hold much hope of them having a replacement as i had the last stock item, i imagine they will carry on with the 350 now.
Is there much advantage of the 350 over the 300, bearing in mind it would incure another £145 (~ $270), or should i ask them to obtain a replacement lense only?

I like the 300D photo quality and build. The new 350D has more noise at ISO100 and is very small for my taste. At higher ISO (over 400) the 350D is better, but softy thanks to some internal noise-reduction. In therms of color reproduction the 300D wins against the 350D as well as the 10D wins against the 20D. The higher resolution on the new models is not a reason to upgrade IMHO. If you install the Russian firmware on the 300D (I did it and I am very happy with all the new functions) it wins in all therms except for speed.
I have been in a shop two days ago to by the new model, but after holding it in my hands I decided to go for the 20D. The 350D is like a toy in my hands. I use heavy lenses and the grip of the 350D is so small that I can easily drop the camera down.

Thanks, seems maybe not worthwhile. Hopfuly they can obtain a new lense for me.

Another issue is that they will most likely offer to exchange the lens, but not the camera (as they are 2 separate items).
Best regards,

I agree. Request for a lens exchange. Save the money, and invest it in another lens.
